The flood did manage to close down school on Tuesday. Early in the morning we all received text messages that the school was closed as some of it was under water. So we had a Flood Day and got to stay home and do.... well other things. I suppose it's the equivalent to a Canadian Snow Day... minus the hot chocolate and quality time with toboggans. Our power has been going off for extended periods of time, which gets uncomfortably hot (although I am told that you fine folks at home are freezing!) but overall things are just fine.

Most of the rooms on the ground floor flooded (somehow mine was quite alright, despite a damp smell) and some have to be totally gutted. Today I'm at school but without students, assuming we don't get more rain... they should be here tomorrow.. although I think I see some rain clouds coming in.... here we go again!
