While I have a great life in Indonesia and usually love it, the worst thing about living so far away from home is having to say goodbye to everyone! Here are pictures of me and my parents at the airport as well as my good buddy Melissa.. who I made the long flight back to Jakarta with.
I find the "goodbye" a really hard thing to do. Being so far away from the people who are so special to me is difficult but I suppose this is all part of the deal.
I know God wants me over here and I know that He gives me the strength and comfort I need to get through the sad and lonely times.
My Dad and I had this big talk at Starbucks before I left and he was saying how we are each called to carry a cross, so to speak and it is important to fully "embrace the cross".. not just carry it but embrace it, which means embracing the sadness that comes with living fully for and serving God. For me that means dealing with the ache of being so far away from my family and friends. I know He called me here and it's okay that I'm sad to leave all that is familiar. That is part of this deal. I need to fully embrace it all! And I know that God will continue to provide what I need while I'm here.
So with that, I say Thanks so much to everyone in Canada! I had an excellent time seeing you and I love you all so much!
