The first party actually started at 12:01am on December 1st. I was woken up to the sound of someone banging on my front door. It was rather scary at first and then I heard voices yelling: "Wake up Miss Jessica! Happy Birthday!" And so I opened the door and three students were standing there with candles and a cake and singing Happy Birthday to me. They wanted to be the first ones to wish me one. Then one of the boys says: "Miss J, I know that you love BMWs.. so here are the keys to mine. Wanna go driving?" So we did! I haven't driven in a year and never on that side of the road, so it was an experience but I didn't kill any of us! It was just a very random Birthday moment and I loved it! I did give the keys back though... Anyway they are really cool kids and I've learned that it's not so bad celebrating birthdays in Indonesia!
A look into my life while living and teaching in Indonesia and traveling all over the place! Feel free to leave comments...
